The Marriage festival
of Lord Sri Rama with godess Sita was performed with traditionally in all around the Andhra Pradesh. Thousands of People vitnessed Historic Sri Rama Temple in Bhadrachalam of Khammam district. Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy along with his wife has carried the silken attire and ‘Mutyala Talambralu’ with devotion on his head and handed them to the temple authorities, following the age-old tradition of the government playing the host for the Kalyanam of Sri Rama. Endowments Minister C Ramachandraiah, IT Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Deputy Speaker Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and other dignitaries were present on the occasion. The kalyanam was performed on the Abhijit Lagna, with chanting of Vedic Mantras. Mutyala Thalambralu were showered on the deities marking the culmination of the marriage. This time the Pattabhishekam ceremony of Lord Rama was being celebrated in the newly constructed ‘Mithila Mandap’ designed by Ganapathi Sthapati. The change of venue of the Pattabhisheka was shifted this year, so that a large number of devotees could view it, said temple authorities. Governor E S L Narasimhan and his wife were scheduled to attend the coronation festival on Monday.
