CPI will contest in Parakala

The Communist Party of India is planning to participate in in the forthcoming byelection to Parkal in Warangal district the CPI‘s hopes, the only constituency in Telangana region going to the polls with the other 17 being in Seemandhra region. The seat fell vacant after Congress MLA Konda Surekha switched loyalties and joined the YSR Congress. CPI state secretary K. Narayana is a vocal supporter of Telangana and has participated in various agitations. “We are planning to contest the seat. The reason for byelections to six Assembly seats in Telangana recently is different from that in Parkal,” Narayana said.
